SALMON & TROUT ASSOCIATION SPONSORED COURSES* for JUNIOR ANGLERS. (under 18's) 

Again for 2012, The Salmon and Trout association are sponsoring the following courses for junior anglers who would like to learn to fly fish, junior anglers who wish to improve their technique and junior anglers who would like to try a salmon fly rod.

The courses are for three hours and will cover tackle requirements, the basic casts and some fly tying.

The day is split into two sessions, 10am – 12.30pm and 2 pm to 4.30 pm. The cost is £10 per session. Students can attend two sessions if they wish. Parental consent forms are required and will be provided. Please call us on 07922 126154  to book your place.

Game - Beginners' Group 2012...

Beginners group courses in 2012.... on the Midland Reservoirs.

We currently organise and run, the beginners courses for ANGLIAN WATER at their major sites:  RUTLAND WATER (01780 686441),  GRAFHAM WATER (01480 810531) and PITSFORD (01604 781350).

The courses are for a full day and offer a programme of casting tuition, fishing tactics, overview of flies and tackle and a period of actual fishing on the water, with all equipment provided.

You will be taught:

• Tackle Guidance

• Casting

• Reading a Water

• Hooking & Playing fish

• All the essential Skills that will give you the best possible chance of hooking your first fish

• Stance, grip and direction of cast

• Line profiles

• Roll Cast

• Basic overhead cast

• Continuous false casting

• Shooting the line

• Retrieving the fly, as well as a number of techniques to help you enjoy your fishing

The price is £65, this amount will be payable when you make the booking. As a participant on one of these courses Anglian Water will offer you very advantageous prices for your first seasons fishing. The site shops also have good quality beginners kits (all you need to start fishing) at exceptional prices

This fishery also provides for anglers of all levels of ability. Novices have a good chance of catching their first fish, and the lake, which is five acres, has very few casting obstructions on the banks.

The lake has excellent fly hatches, particularly damsel flies, and a plentiful supply of fry. Stocking is every ten days throughout the main season with trout from 1lb 8oz to 17lb. The fishery also has a number of coarse lakes and an excellent tackle shop where all tackle, including flies, can be purchased.

Dates for MANOR FARM are given separately .The syllabus is the same as for the other fisheries.

All tackle, flies lines, nets etc are supplied. Lunch is on site and is included in the price which is £65. To book a place call the fishery on 01767 317835.
